
Xiang Lyu
ORNL R&D Associate Staff Scientist
Xiang Lyu is a Transportation and Grid research and development associate staff scientist at Oak Ridge National Laboratory (ORNL). Lyu is also a University of Tennessee-Oak Ridge Innovation Institute Fellow, working with the institute’s Energy Storage and Transportation Convergent Research Initiative.
Lyu received his Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering from Ohio University in 2020. He joined ORNL in 2021 as a postdoc research associate. He has published more than 30 journal articles with more than half as the first author. He is the recipient of the 2023 UT-Battelle Outstanding Research Output Team Award. Currently, he dedicates his research to water electrolysis under acid, alkaline and seawater mediums, fuel cells, and electrochemical CO2 reduction reactions.
