
Wenjing Zhang
Assistant Professor
Wenjing Zhang is an assistant professor of the Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine at the University of Tennessee Health Science Center (UTHSC). She is also the faculty director of Translational Science Shared Resources, Center for Cancer Research at UTHSC. Zhang is part of the University of Tennessee-Oak Ridge Innovation Institute’s Radiopharmaceutical Therapies Convergent Research Initiative.
Dr. Zhang’s teaching areas focus on ovarian cancer, Cu, HIF-1, and regenerative medicine and stem cells. Her research interests include stem cell biology, regenerative medicine, copper biology and interaction between cancer and stem cells.
Before receiving her Ph.D. in Gynecologic Oncology, she was an OB/GYN at the West China Second University Hospital in 2003. From 2010 to 2012, she received post-doc training in cellular and molecular biology at the University of Louisville, Louisville. After that, she became an assistant professor in regenerative medicine research in the Sichuan University.
