Dr. Wenjing Zhang is an assistant professor of the Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine at the UTHSC. She received her M.D. from Sichuan University before she became an OB/GYN doctor at the West China Second University Hospital in 2003. Then she got her Ph.D. of Gynecologic Oncology from Sichuan University in 2009. From 2010 to 2012, she received post-doc training in cellular and molecular biology at the University of Louisville, Louisville. After that, she became an assistant professor in regenerative medicine research in the Sichuan University. Her research interests include stem cell biology, regenerative medicine, copper biology and interaction between cancer and stem cells.
