On September 3rd, UT-ORII’s Convergent Research Initiaitves were featured in the Knoxville News Sentinel. Over the last few weeks, UT-ORII has been seeking ideas from UT and Oak Ridge National Laboratory researchers for new Convergent Research Initiatives. Proposed initiatives should represent emerging areas of strength for UT and ORNL, and areas of national and statewide importance.
Each approved convergent research initiative will receive around $20M in direct funding over a five-year period.
Complete submissions must be sent before 5:00pm on September 15, 2023 to utorii@ornl.gov. Questions about the concept papers or submission process should be directed to David Sholl, UT-ORII’s Interim Executive Director at shollds@ornl.gov. Late submissions will not be considered.
