UT-ORII researcher Adam Imel and UT and Oak Ridge National Laboratory’s Governor Chair Thomas Zawodzinski were awarded $1.1 million for their Dispersions and Degradation Project, a 3-year Department of Defense-sponsored project with Aerojet Rocketdyne. This project will be completed under UT-ORII’s Energy Storage and Transportation Convergent Research Initiative.
Imel is a research assistant professor in Electrochemical Energy Storage, specializing in energy storage materials, with a specific focus on polymers, polymer composites, and novel electrolytes for energy storage devices.
Zawodzinski was appointed in 2009 as a UT-ORNL Governor’s Chair for Electrical Energy Conversion and Storage. He is a leader in the field of fuel cells and battery technologies.
