Filling Gaps in STEM Education

Coming Soon: Science Saturdays

Encouraging an interest in science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) is important regardless of your child’s age, but it’s particularly crucial during middle and high school when students begin considering career options. Partnering with U.S. Department of Energy, Oak Ridge Institute for Science and Education (ORISE), Tennessee Achieves, the State of Tennessee and a very enthusiastic and fun group of STEM teachers and UT-ORII’s graduate students, UT-ORII is launching Science Saturdays for middle schoolers this school year.

With Science Saturdays, students will have the opportunity to take on a variety of hands-on STEM challenges, working directly with our grad students and educators from across the state.

“With Science Saturdays, we hope to get middle schoolers across the state excited about science and innovation. We want them to see how STEM impacts the world around us.”
